১. ধনী হওয়ার প্রথম প্রক্রিয়া শুরু হয় নিজেকে অর্থ প্রদানেরে মাধ্যমে। অর্থাৎ, আয়ের ১০ শতাংশ নিজের জন্যে জমিয়ে রাখতে বলেন আরকাদ। এক সময় সঞ্চয় যখন বেশ ভারী হয়ে উঠবে তখন নিজেকে বেশ শক্তিশালী মনে হবে। ধনী বা গরীব সবাইকেই এ কাজ করতে বলেন আরকাদ।

২. পরের ধাপটি হলো, খরচ আয়ের চেয়ে কমিয়ে আনা। যত ব্যয়ই হোক না কেন, তা আয়ের চেয়ে কমিয়ে আনতে হবে। বাড়তি থাকলে কমাতে থাকুন। আধুনিক কনজ্যুমারব্যবস্থা মানুষের ব্যয় বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে। এ ক্ষেত্রে আরকাদ জানান, ভেবে-চিন্তে অপ্রয়োজনীয় খরচগুলো খুঁজে বের করে তা বাদ দিতে হবে।

৩. যে সঞ্চয় গড়ে তুলেছেন, এবার তা বিনিয়োগ করুন। আর এ কাজটি স্বর্ণের পেছনে ব্যয় করতে পারেন। অর্থাৎ, সঞ্চয় দিতে স্বর্ণ কিনে রাখুন। এটা ভবিষ্যতের বড় বিনিয়োগ বলে মনে করতেন আরকাদ।

৪. বিনয়োগে কিছুটা ঝুঁকি থাকবেই। এটা বিবেচনায় রাখতে হবে। আরকাদের মতে, ঝুঁকিকে সম্ভাবনাময় ক্ষতি বলে ধরে নিতে হয়। তবে বিনিয়োগের আগে অবশ্যই ঝুঁকির মাত্রা কমিয়ে আনতে হবে।

৫. মাথার ওপর ছাদ থাকা জরুরি একটি বিষয়। এটি স্থায়ীভাবে নিজের করে নিতে পারলে সবচেয়ে ভালো। তবে আপনি কতটুকু জোগান দিতে পারবেন তা বুঝতে হবে। একটি থাকার জায়গা কেনার সময় এতে লুকানো খরচ রয়েছে কিনা তা বুঝতে হবে।

৬. কর্মক্ষম থাকা অবস্থায় ভবিষ্যতকে গুছিয়ে নিতে হবে। অবসরে যাওয়ার পর বা কর্মক্ষমতা হারানোর পর যেন উপার্জনের উপায় থাকে তা আগে থেকেই প্রস্তুত করে রাখতে হবে। এগুলোর জন্যে আধুনিককালে ব্যাংক বা আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোতে নানা ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে।

৭. উপার্জন বৃদ্ধির জন্যে জ্ঞান বাড়াতে হবে। আর এ কাজে শেখার কোনো শেষ নেই। যত শিখবেন ততই নির্ভুলভাবে কাজ করতে পারবেন। যে ব্যক্তি তার কাজ থেকে অনেক বেশি শিখতে পারবেন, তিনিই সবচেয়ে বেশি লাভবান হবেন বলে মনে করেন আরকাদ।
